MARK MAWSON

London based photographer, Mark Mawson has over 25 years experience of producing creative and inspiring images. He specialises in shooting liquids and his colourful liquid work, titled "Aqueous", has become very well known and collectable. He also enjoys shooting underwater fashion and beauty and his non commissioned personal work shows a love of atmospheric, cinematic work.
Mark's work is very different to Marcel Christ's work, in that it's more elaborate, there is more life in these photographs. Mark includes a number of inks all at once almost creating a marble effect in the ink 'clouds' which provide the photograph with so much more detail. He uses different techniques and angles to take the photographs including shots from underneath the tank which show the ink settling at the bottom and spreading the colours out in a circular motion. These photographs are more artistic than emotional and the colours used are too pastel based, light shades of each colour which would represent lighter emotions than the ones I want to represent. However, it's the techniques that I am interested in with Mark's work and the angles in which he photographs the forms of ink.
